Leaves and Bugs. 2016-17
The spine of a simple leaf is like the spine of a human. What was seen through my lens was the core strength of its spine, its natural fold and fragility, the bits of dirt and pollution. While photographing the leaves, I started finding dead bugs in my neighborhood. Cicadas, moths, beetles, butterflies, and bees were photographed the same way, not only for similar design and aesthetic considerations, but for the continued weaving together of one life form into another. Our continued existence is based on their health, and survival.
