One of the many bodies of work as an artist was a series of portraits where I entered historical scenes, altering the importance of these events by placing a woman as an active, but ghostly participant. Victorian photographers used these same methods of multiple exposures to create surreal portraitures, with scenes that created new stories, sets, imagined in the mind of the photographer.

This work was shot with a 4x5 camera, a 2 ¼ camera, with double exposures on negative film. These negatives were then scanned and digitally printed to 19in. x 19in. The photographs of the children’s stories are found slides, bought at a camera store, 20 years ago, and have finally found a place within my work.
